Next door neighbors...
These cedar fences were installed during the same week in the summer of 1996 making them 13 years old. They were from the same lumber supplier and the same batch. The same fence company did the installations. The fence on the left was treated with Superdeck Cedar color stain the first season. In 2001 it was cleaned and treated with Superdeck Valley color stain. The fence on the right was treated with Thompson Water seal the first season and has not been treated since. The fence on the left is in perfect condition while the fence on the right is beginning to warp, buckle and degrade. Moral of the story...they are no longer the same. Update ...the fence on the right is gone!!
